Xin Mengchen is a journalism school student, Documentary film maker, Photojournalist, Radio program producer, Japanese language learner, Taylor Swift fan.
Born in 1992 in Shandong province of China, I grew up in a small town, knowing nothing about the world. But choosing a Japanese language major has changed my life ever since.
Currently, I’m studying journalism in Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. Japanese and Journalism are two amazing spheres that I would love to devote myself to. Photojournalism has become a part of my life since the summer 2016, when I had the chance to spend one semester in one of the most prestigious journalism schools in the United States–University of Missouri. Thanks to Fundamentals of Photojournalism class, I started to explore the amazing combination of photograph and journalism to tell a compelling story.
I love music, films, TV shows, novels, images, all kinds of media to tell stories. I appreciate my everyday life, where all the stories happened. I appreciate the people I met, and the stories they shared with me.
I have considerable passion to document environmental issues and investigative reporting through images and videos.
